About Us
The Turks and Caicos Islands Mission of Seventh-day Adventists was founded in 1906, when the first group of Sabbath Keepers were discovered in Grand Turk by a colporteur from Jamaica named Phillip Porter.
The first Church in the Mission was organized by Pastor Gordon Prenier some forty years later in Grand Turk in a warehouse that was purchased on Front Street.
Today the Mission is comprised of seven churches and two companies and is divided into three districts. District one is comprised of the Antioch and Maranatha Churches, the company on Salt Cay and the Spanish company in Providenciales named Philadelphia. District two is comprised of the Blue Hills, Ephesus and Kew Churches. And District three Bethel, Five Cays and Ebenezer Churches.
The mission operates one high school the Maranatha High and one primary school Newman′s Preparatory.
Presently the Mission human resources consist of four pastoral workers, one full time Bible Worker, a Treasurer, an Administrative Assistant and several volunteer workers who hold various departments in the mission.
